The AIMAA is headed by Grand Master Hee Il Cho - 9th Dan Black Belt. Grand Master Hee Il Cho has developed a worldwide reputation as one of the leading practitioners and innovators of the martial arts. He has won numerous championships worldwide. He has written a total of 11 books and produced over 40 instructional videotapes covering all aspects of martial arts. Grand Master Cho is also Founder and President of both the All Ireland Tae Kwon Do Association and the Global Tae Kwon Do International Association in England. ‘Cho’s Tae Kwon Do’ Grand Master Cho’s school was established in 1975 and is one of the very few schools where the Grand Master still gives lessons personally. Grandmaster Hee Il Cho has devoted his life to the philosophies of his art as well as enhancements in techniques for nearly 50 years. He began martial arts at the age of ten. His motivation was inspired by being beaten up by a local gang. This triggered his determination to never be unable to defend himself again. Diligent daily training led to his promotion to black belt at the age of thirteen. The grandmaster achieved 4th Dan black belt when he was 21 and was selected to train the Elite Special Forces of the Korean National Army and also the army Special Forces of India. Grandmaster Hee Il Cho was soon actively participating in many competitions and international championships, including martial arts and boxing. He quickly gained a reputation as a fierce fighter and forms competitor. In 1968 Grandmaster Hee Il Cho made the United States his new home. Then in 1980 he founded the Action International Martial Arts Association (AIMAA) in hopes of creating a unified body of martial artists pursuing the peace and harmony of the art. Grandmaster Hee Il Cho’s contributions to the martial arts have taken on many forms throughout the years, constantly adding to his already enormous list of achievements. He has personally written 11 books and produced over 70 videos, and the featured martial artist on over 60 magazine covers. He has appeared in Hollywood films, Fight to Win, Best of the Best, Bloodsport II and Bloodsport III. Grandmaster Hee Il Cho has developed the reputation of being one of the leading practitioners and innovators of the martial arts community and has been inducted into both the Black Belt and TKD Times Hall of Fame.
