Updates and news

Hi Folks,
Apologies for the lack of updates recently, I have been very busy with many things, but at least its only the web page that's slipping. Ok we have a seminar given by Master Darcy on Sat 26th March, am looking forward to that.

We attended the Nationals in Dublin in Feb, which was a very well run event and Newport did very well as usual, well done and thanks to all who took part. The second part of the Nationals takes place in Dublin on th 9th April in the same venue for Patterns and one steps, I would like to see a large attendance from Newport at this event.

We had a Panthers grading in early March, it was a resounding success and the Panthers were brilliant.

The Scottish Nationals on the May bank holiday weekend should be good fun, am looking forward to that event. There are a few places left if anyone is interested in attending. We are planning a grading for April, I am just waiting for confirmation on a date. Ill post as soon as I have it confirmed.
Keep training and keep pushing your self you are all doing very well.

Mr Nick Gleeson.

Ok only a few days before Master Darcy's patterns and one steps competition to be held in Dublin in the Moran's hotel at the Red Cow roundabout. This is a great opportunity for you to display your skills performing your patterns or your one steps. Practice makes perfect so if you want to win you must practice and practice lots. Entry must be in by the 21st as its pre-registration only, cost is €25 to cover all divisions if paid before the 21st May or €35 euro is payment is later than the 21st. Good luck on the day.

Grading and seminar on 27th March

posted Apr 3, 2010 11:55 AM by Nick Glesson

Saturday the 27th was a great day and I have to say that all students did us and themselves proud, well done to all who graded, you all passed I am delighted to say. Everyones discipline was excellent as was your theory and grading material, patterns one steps etc. Some students were caught a bit off guard by some of Master Darcy's questions and looked like rabbits caught in headlights. What Master Darcy is looking for are answers from your heart, what Taekwondo means to you personally. So next time relax and think about his questions and answer honestly. Well done everybody. Remember keep training always and follows the aims to achieve with your heart and soul.

What about that seminar, what a fantastic seminar that was, Master Darcy and Master Byrne were in great form and put on a wonderful seminar that I know everybody enjoyed immensely. We are so very lucky to have masters of this caliber teaching us how to be martial artists. I will put up photos of the seminar shortly. Remember that the seminar was about fighting techniques and covered all of the fighting techniques from Yellow belt through to Purple belt only. In your next grading be sure to apply these techniques otherwise the teachings of our master will have been in vain.

Well folks, Its here at last.
Be sure to eat a good breakfast, bring plenty of fluids (Not Coke etc) and a banana.
Be relaxed, you have nothing to worry about at this stage, just do your best for the masters, you have trained hard for this.
We wish you the best of luck.
